Well hello. Do I look like someone you could love? I am looking for a new family to call my own.  I am super smart, energetic, well behaved dog who just loves to play and be outdoors. So if you are always on the go or enjoy hiking, biking or going to the beach, I'll love to come along too. I was rescued from almost unspeakable circumstances. My owner had tied me up in the garage before he left for work. On his way there, he was stopped and arrested, and taken off to jail. He was in a lot of trouble and had no money to post bail. Too ashamed to contact his family for help, and without any money to post bail, he sat in the jail until he could figure out what to do. After ten days, his worried family came by his house to see why they hadn't heard from him. Only they found me instead, starving and half crazy from lack of water. Not knowing what to do, they called animal control to come and put me down. A vet was called to euthanize me. Only he thought I was just too handsome to die. He was certain I would come around with plenty of water and food, and loving hands to calm me. He offered to take me in, and assured the officers he would be responsible for me. His patient staff cared for me for two weeks. They petted me and exercised me in an outdoor pen. They spoke in quiet, loving voices and told me I was very handsome. Slowly, I began to trust again and gained some weight. Once I was healthy enough, the vet called Perry to see if he would take me in. It was rough when I first arrived, as I wanted to bite everyone and everything. I quickly learned that behavior wasn't acceptable. I wouldn't walk on a leash. Now I will. It took many, many months of work to help me overcome my fears. But I still don't like anyone to touch my neck... too many bad memories of being chained in that garage. I want so much to have my own family and a home again. I'll be a loving, happy dog you'll treasure for years and years. Won't you please consider taking me home with you, forever?

If you are interested in having me join your family, please fill out the on-line Request Adoption form, or call 870-431-8354, or email my rescue family at livineasy@centurytel.net. They will be happy to tell you how easy it is to apply for adoption and quickly bring me home.
